Here’s the thing about the trade.
I don’t understand the uproar by the owners. However, I do agree that if they got both Paul and Howard the team would be ridiculous.
This deal (as currently constituted, not counting future deals) makes the Lakers worse.
They’d have Kobe, Paul and Bynum, and that’s it.
Metta World Peace and Caracter would be their other starters.  Their bench has Walton, Blake, Fisher, Ebanks. That’s not a good team.  Especially once Bynum gets hurt.  This will open up some salary (though still over the cap), so it depends on the next move they make.  If they were to bring in Howard next, they’d be a really good team (Seems like he’s going to the Nets). But if they don’t get a good big they will get bullied underneath.
The Hornets made a great deal.
They got four starters and draft picks.
Their starting lineup would be Dragic, Martin, Odom, Scola, Okafor (I’ve heard that Okafor might be getting dealt too)
Their bench has Ariza, Jack, Pondexter, and Ewing.
That’s not a terrible team, just add some bench bigs. Martin and Dragic would provide most of the offense, but it’s a good team
Houston. I don’t know what they’re thinking.  Gasol is good, but not worth Scola, Martin, and Dragic.
I’m guessing their lineup is Lowry, Lee, Budinger, Gasol, Thabeet.
That’s iffy, because their bench could have a starter or two on it, Flynn, Hill, Williams, Patterson, Cousin, Blakely.
That’s a bad team, their whole roster is comprised of decent bench guys.  Of course this will open up a lot of salary, so maybe they could sign a really good player to play with Gasol.
There is no reason for the owners not to like this deal.  The holdup is actually because a lot of money is moving around.  The Hornets are taking in a lot of money, and the other teams are opening a lot up.  That’s where it has any hold up (however, it’s always waved by the commish). If the Hornets traded away Okafor to the Lakers (but I wouldn’t do that), it would work out financially. In reality, the only reason this was held up is because the Hornets are owned by the league. I still imagine this deal happening eventually..
Here’s the real question, does New Orleans really want Khloe?

Dwyane Wade did not go into hibernation after losing to the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals. He went to Milan, and here he is with every Internet white guys favorite rapper, Kanye West. Except, Kanye is hiding a little something from his buddy Wade. That’s a Dallas Mavericks cap he’s got cupped in his right hand.
